The British weather

The British weather’s
never clever –
and if we could
we’d moan forever.

Makes the headlines
breaking news,
track the clouds
and scour for clues….

Is it cold
with driving rain?
Macs and coats
and brolly pain.

Or quite dull
and rather grey?
(we’re begging for
a brighter day).

But when it’s sunny,
it’s too hot!
We’re never happy
with what we’ve got.

The British weather’s
very clever –
collective moaning
keeps the county together…

  1. Such a clever poem. Don’t know much about the weather over there . . . But most people cry for the cold of winter when it’s hot and cry for the heat of summer when it’s cold here. We’re never satisfied it seems.
